The Maplewood represents a family tradition of caring, spanning three generations and 50 years of exceptional service. Thomas and Johanna Chambery, founders and Greg's grandparents, first opened the facility in 1947 on Lake Avenue, Rochester. Then in 1960 his parents took over the operation. In 1976 they moved to their current location on Daniel Drive. Greg joined Maplewood in 1983 and became its Administrator in 1990.

Maplewood reflects the family's commitment to providing comfortable accommodations, attentive service and affordable quality care. This philosophy provides the solid foundation on which their operation is built. Much has changed since the early days on Lake Avenue, but the basics of how they treat people and provide service remain the same. They have always centered around a deep commitment to treat and provide care for loved ones as you would at home.

The professional staff provides quality care every day. A separate facility on the grounds is used for on-going training and continuous staff development using the latest information and techniques to help provide the best possible care for residents. They strive to deliver the level of hospitality and service you'd find at a fine hotel.

Their accommodations are beautifully maintained with a home-like atmosphere. The interior areas are spotless and well-appointed. Residents may enjoy a balance of privacy in their own spacious suites and a sense of community by visiting the great room, complete with cathedral ceilings, comfortable furnishings and floor-to-ceiling windows. Outside there is a gazebo, pond and courtyard featuring a waterfall and soothing fountain. At the Maplewood, the quality of life the residents enjoy is as important as the quality of care.
