The roots of the Willard H. Scott Funeral Home in the Webster community began in 1941 when Ward and Carolyn Tinklepaugh started the Tinklepaugh Funeral Home on South Avenue, Webster. Along with the Funeral Home they also operated a shoe store in the northwest corner of the building.

In 1964 Willard and Florence Scott purchased the business and worked along side Mr. Tinklepaugh for several years until the Tinklepaughs retired to Cohocton, NY. Eventually the name of the business was changed to Willard H. Scott Funeral Home, Inc. and operates under that name today. In 1998 Jeff and Sharon Corretore Scott (Willard and Florence's older son and his wife) purchased controlling interest in the funeral home. Robert Barton joined the staff of the funeral home in 2003.

Grateful to be able to serve the community as funeral directors, Jeff, Bill and Bob are members of, and participate in, different local organizations including the Webster Chamber of Commerce, Webster Arboretum, Lions Club, Masonic Lodge, American Legion, Webster Comfort Care, Webster Fire Department, Cub Scouts, and local churches. Willard served on the Chamber's Board of Directors and as President from 1982 to 1984.

Over the years, the funeral home has maintained an attractive appearance and has helped keep its corner of the neighborhood welcoming. Any success the funeral home has achieved has come from its bottom-line philosophy of "treating families the way we would want to be treated in a similar situation."
