  Kuk Sool Won
  Korean Traditional Martial Arts
  82 East Main Street, Webster
  Gary Evarts, Owner/Operator

Kuk Sool Won opened in 1992. The martial arts school is a member of the World Kuk Sool Association that has schools in 28 countries.

Kuk Sool Won strives to develop a better community and future by promoting education, respect, and loyalty to one’s community and family.  According to Gary Evarts, owner/operator of Kuk Sool Won, the best part of his 27 years in this business has been teaching people, young and old, male and female, and giving them confidence to excel and overcome various obstacles in life.

The school, which employs eight assistant instructors, takes part in many community activities in Webster.  The school supports the Webster Fire Department and participates in the Firemen’s parade.  They also take part in the Webster Community Art Days and Webster Village Days.  The school offers self-defense classes to women through the Webster Community Education Department and they have partnered with the Webster Parks and Recreation Department for years to offer cardio kickboxing and martial arts for children ages 4-8. Community participation is encouraged through their Halloween and Christmas parties.

The most important and rewarding event the school holds every year is a Cancer Benefit Tournament and Auction.  A child is chosen from a community in which one of the Kuk Sool Won schools is located and proceeds from the event are used to help off-set that family’s expenses.  Money is raised through their student registration fees charged to compete in the tournament.  Area businesses donate gifts for the auction, contributing to this great cause.

Congratulations on your success.
