The Bayview YMCA is part of the international YMCA, serving the diverse needs of communities worldwide since 1844. The YMCA is instrumental in developing, influencing and providing human service programs for its members and the communities it serves. The YMCA of Greater Rochester as well as internationally is a charitable association seeking to place Christian principles into practice through programs building a healthy mind, body and spirit for all.

The Bayview branch has a true representation of the community it serves with over 12,000 members ranging from one year in age to 90+ years old. The Bayview branch has been serving the community since 1972 where it began operation in the old Kidd mansion along the bay. The Bayview YMCA provides programming and services in conjunction with the Teachers Association, ARC of Monroe County, Hillside Children's Center, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Baywinde, Catholic Family Charities, Heritage Christian Home, Sisters of Mercy, jSt. Joseph's, Veterans Outreach, local schools and others.

The Bayview branch employs over 375 full and part time people and continues to grow each year. The Executive Director of the Bayview YMCA branch is Michael Stevens. When Mr. Stevens was notified of the Business of the Month award from the Webster Chamber of Commerce, he commented, "We are honored to be recognized by the Chamber and all the Webster businesses, and we look forward to serving this community for many years to come."
