The Webster Central School District, with just over 9,000 students, is Monroe County's second largest and fastest growing school district. The Webster School District also partners with four Webster-area preschools to provide universal pre-kindergarten programming for eligible 4-year olds.

Webster offers a balanced academic program for students in kindergarten through grade 12 within an environment that encourages individual development and prepares graduates for success in the 21st century.

The Webster School District is known at local, state, and national levels for its effective use of data to guide instructional decisions. Diagnostic measurements and progress monitoring are regularly used and effectively analyzed. Elementary "Grand Rounds" data teams have been recognized as an exemplary practice by the New York State Education Department.

Elementary students (K-5) receive a rigorous, comprehensive curriculum that includes reading, mathematics, language arts, social studies, science, and health. Art and music, and a physical education program that focuses on health and wellness complement core subjects.

Technological literacy begins in elementary school where students have access to a broad range of technology including mobile computer labs, hand-held computers, SMART boards (interactive whiteboards that connect students with instructional software), classroom response systems, and other tools.

The secondary program builds upon the foundation established in elementary school. Middle school (grades 6-8) offers a variety of exploratory and interdisciplinary learning experiences for students. Departmentalized instruction is provided in English, social studies, math, science, literacy, foreign language, home and career skills, technology education, art, music, and physical education. Technological literacy continues to be cultivated throughout middle school, in class as well as through extra-curricular activities.

High school students (grades 9-12) work towards a Regents diploma, Regents with Honors, or a Regents diploma with Advanced Distinction. Twenty-four Advanced Placement courses are offered in the areas of math, science, foreign language, social studies, economics, music and art. The district collaborates with Monroe Community College (MCC) to provide high school students with opportunities to earn college credit in numerous academic areas and technical education programs at the Eastern Monroe Career Center (EMCC) give student's opportunities to develop technical skills in preparation for entry level jobs and/or post-secondary education. The emphasis in all EMCC classes is on practicing the skills specific to the occupational area being studied in a realistic work environment. Work-based learning programs, including co-op and internship experiences, are available through World of Work. The Young Entrepreneurs Academy (YEA!) is a groundbreaking educational program that takes high school students through the process of starting and running real businesses over the course of a full school year. Students work in close cooperation with local leaders of industry, community members, and educators to develop ideas and objectives, write business plans, obtain funding, register with governmental agencies, develop their brand identity and more.

Webster schools feature an exceptionally strong fine arts program with classes for all levels of interest and ability. Co-curricular musical groups allow students to enjoy further means of creative expression. The district's comprehensive athletic program features varsity, junior varsity, freshmen and modified levels of competition. Webster students consistently perform at levels that meet or exceed state and county standards. They earn local, state and national honors and millions of dollars in college scholarships each year.

Transportation is provided to elementary students (K-5) living .25 miles or more from their assigned school and secondary students (6-12) living .7 miles or more from their middle and/or high school. Students attending a non-public school located 15 miles or less from their residence also receive transportation.

A significant factor in the success of the Webster School District is strong community participation and involvement, including an inter-municipal agreement with the Town of Webster to provide and operate recreational and athletic activities for community residents of all ages.
