Smallprint and Silver Pet Prints

Smallprint and Silver Pet Prints is not just a business that sells jewelry; it’s a business with a heart. Alicia Thompson-Healy handcrafts each piece of jewelry in pure silver or 22K gold with your loved ones actual fingerprint, hand/footprint, handwriting or your pet’s actual paw print. Clients can choose from charms, pendants, cufflinks, key chains, pins, tie tacks and ornaments. The print can be any age and she does bereavement pieces as well.

After working in the not-for-profit world for several years and teaching English as a second language in Vietnam, she had the opportunity go to Australia for the holidays. It was there that she was introduced to the Smallprint franchise. While she wasn’t 100% convinced at first, the more she learned, the more she realized this business was a perfect fit for her.

She and her husband Mike purchased the franchise in September of 2013 and recorded growth of 594% in their first year of business. In June 2015, the business moved to office space on University Avenue, in Rochester to accommodate the increase in production. In January 2017, they expanded their business by purchasing the Northeast territory and becoming the Area Developer.

One thing she finds pleasurable about the business is when clients thank her for creating a piece that provides them with great comfort. Very recently she had a message from a client who said “I appreciate what you do and helping families have a real special keepsake of their loved ones.”

One of her company’s goals from the beginning was to work with not-for-profit companies and organizations who “live” their mission. Smallprint has developed partnerships with many local organizations and developed a Pediatric Bereavement Keepsake program. Through their “Memory Treasures” program, 15% of the proceeds are donated back to a bereavement fund in the hospital unit or organization. They have served over 190 families and more than $6,500 has been donated back to these programs.

Alicia also serves on several community organization boards and committee’s such as: "W" Award Event Committee: co-chairing the Silent Auction; Femfessionals Board and Event Co-Chair; Webster Chamber; CURE Childhood Cancer Association 5K/Walk Event Co-Chair; Mended Little Hearts Guest Bartender Event, Co-Chair/founder of event; Miracle Field Board Member and 5KCommittee Member; YEA Mentor with the Webster School District.
