Lakefront Soccer Club
The Webster Soccer Association, better known as the Lakefront Soccer Club, is our Business of the Month award. Lakefront soccer located at 865 Publishers Parkway in Webster, NY, has been making a remarkable impact on our community since its establishment in 1976.
The primary mission of Lakefront Soccer Club is to provide a positive soccer experience for our youth athletes. Their mission is beautifully summarized in their commitment to teaching proper skill development, promoting team participation, and ensuring that every child has fun on the field. The club's dedicated coaches go above and beyond, not only fostering soccer skills but also building good character, self-confidence, and sportsmanship among the players. Lakefront Soccer's commitment to quality coaching, excellent facilities, and well-rounded programming allows each player to thrive and develop as individuals both on and off the field.
In terms of their team, Lakefront Soccer Club has four full-time employees, as well as many seasonal high school and college staff. They have also assembled a remarkable team of approximately 100 coaches across their recreation, travel, and premier teams. This dedicated staff ensures that the club operates smoothly and efficiently, providing the best experience for all its members.
One of the remarkable aspects of Lakefront Soccer Club is its extensive community involvement. They are proud members of the Webster Youth Sports Council and actively participate in various community events. The club hosts a Webster Wondercare clinic several times a year, offering free soccer clinics to 50 K-5 students, to expose kids to the game of soccer and promoting physical activity. Furthermore, they support the Webster Hope House, make donations of soccer equipment to programs in the city school district and African countries. Additionally, Lakefront Soccer Club volunteers its time to support the high school national honor society students, providing them with valuable experiences and opportunities for personal growth. Their active involvement in the Webster Chamber of Commerce further demonstrates their commitment to the local business community.
The history of Lakefront Soccer Club is a testament to its growth and dedication over the years. Starting from humble beginnings, the club has expanded into a thriving organization serving Webster and surrounding counties. With the support of visionary leaders, they secured a grant to construct an indoor facility, enabling them to move into their Indoor Soccer Complex in 2002. Subsequently, outdoor grass fields were established on Basket Road in 2003. Today, Lakefront SC boasts impressive facilities, including the Lakefront Indoor Soccer Complex with a 40 x 70-yard indoor turf field, classrooms, offices, and storage. They also have a well-maintained lighted grass stadium field and seven outdoor grass fields. Furthermore, Lakefront Sports Park and Basket Road offer an additional 19 grass fields, along with essential amenities such as bathrooms, storage, and a concession building, spread across more than 50 acres of land. The club's growth is evident in its team count, with Lakefront SC now home to an impressive 36 teams in its Travel and Premier programs alone.
As a nonprofit organization, Lakefront Soccer Club relies on fundraising to support its initiatives. Their annual soccer tournament, the Lakefront Classic Showcase, stands as their largest fundraising event. It is share the news of the tournament's upcoming 31st anniversary in 2023. What started with 120 teams in 1991 has now grown into a colossal event, hosting over 300 teams from all over New York, as well as from various states along the East Coast and even Canada. The Lakefront Classic Showcase serves as a beacon of sporting excellence and community engagement, attracting participants and spectators from far and wide.
